Current Openings

  • Morning Star Christian School is hiring a full-time K–5 Homeroom Teacher responsible for leading instruction in core subjects: Bible, math, language arts, science, and social studies. This position includes lesson planning, student assessment, classroom management, and regular parent communication.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s in Education (required)

    • Oregon teaching license (preferred or in progress)

    • 2+ years classroom teaching experience

    • Ability to integrate a Biblical worldview into all subjects

    • Experience differentiating instruction and supporting diverse learners

  • Morning Star Christian School is seeking a full-time Middle School Humanities Teacher to teach integrated language arts, literature, and social studies to students in grades 6–8. This role includes lesson planning, classroom instruction, student assessment, and fostering meaningful classroom discussion from a Biblical worldview.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s in Education, English, History, or related field (required)

    • Oregon teaching license (preferred or in progress)

    • 2+ years teaching experience, preferably in grades 6–8

    • Strong writing and communication skills

    • Ability to integrate faith and critical thinking across disciplines

  • Morning Star Christian School is hiring a full-time teacher to lead science and social studies instruction for grades 6–8. The ideal candidate is passionate about hands-on, inquiry-based learning and can integrate a Biblical worldview across both subjects. Responsibilities include lesson planning, lab and project facilitation, classroom management, and student assessment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s in Education, Science, History, or related field (required)

    • Oregon teaching license (preferred or in progress)

    • 2+ years teaching experience, preferably in middle school

    • Experience with STEM integration and student-led learning

    • Ability to create engaging, faith-integrated learning experiences

  • Morning Star Christian School is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant to support our K–5 homeroom teachers. This role includes assisting with classroom instruction, supervising students during recess and transitions, supporting small group learning, and helping maintain a safe, Christ-centered environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom or childcare setting

    • A heart for serving and encouraging students

    • Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively

    • Dependable, flexible, and aligned with the mission of MSCS

    Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, times may vary and are negotiable based on availability and classroom needs.

  • Morning Star Christian School is seeking a creative and Christ-centered Part-Time Music/Art Teacher to lead weekly instruction in both subjects for grades K–8. This role includes planning and teaching developmentally appropriate music and art lessons, preparing students for seasonal performances and art displays, and collaborating with classroom teachers to support a joyful, worshipful, and creative learning environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience teaching music and/or art to children in a school or ministry setting

    • Ability to integrate Biblical themes into creative instruction

    • Strong classroom management and communication skills

    • Flexible, dependable, and aligned with MSCS’s mission and values

    This is a part-time position, approximately 2–3 days per week, with scheduling flexibility based on the candidate's availability and school needs.
